Our Pedigree...

Joinery has been integral to Owlsworth Conservation for decades. Having undertaken detailed joinery repair schedules on some of the country’s most significant buildings we have developed a wealth of experience. We are often called upon to survey and produce specific joinery reports providing in-depth analysis of why problems have occurred, developing repair schedules according to suitability of currently available species and desired repair philosophy.

Some of the projects we have been fortunate to be involved with include the fire damaged panelling at Clandon Park, the delicate parquet de Versailles flooring at Woburn Abbey and the historic Priors Gates at Winchester cathedral. The depth of survey depends on the specific requirement but will often include: -

  1. A schedule of the current condition keyed to annotated drawings and photographs.

  2. Additional supporting historical information and photographs.

  3. Sufficient supporting information to allow submission for SMC and LBC consents.

    • Method statement for proposed repair and conservation approach.

    • Justification for repairs.

    • Descriptions of original construction methods.

    • A schedule of proposed repairs.

  4. We can also submit SMC and LBC applications if so required.
