Welcome to Owlsworth Joinery

Owlsworth Joinery is a specialist company dedicated to the design, manufacture, and conservation of high-quality traditional timber joinery. As a sister company to Owlsworth and Owlsworth Conservation, we are proud to contribute to some of the UK’s most important historic and heritage projects, working alongside private clients, architects, and leading organisations such as the Historic Royal Palaces, National Trust, English Heritage and the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB).

Our work spans a wide spectrum — from the conservation of iconic historic buildings to the creation of bespoke timber features for existing historic settings and high-end new builds. Through this, we have earned a national reputation for excellence in craftsmanship and a deep understanding of traditional joinery techniques.

Why Owlsworth Joinery?

As demand for our specialist joinery expertise grew, both in volume and complexity, it became clear that a dedicated joinery company was needed. The formation of Owlsworth Joinery was a natural progression — a response to the increasing number of commissions requiring not only exceptional technical skill but also an informed, sensitive approach to period buildings and traditional design.

Though we operate independently, our roots in the heritage sector run deep. Every project we undertake benefits from the knowledge, experience, and integrity that have defined the Owlsworth name for decades.

Whether conserving or restoring historically significant elements, replicating lost features with pinpoint accuracy, or crafting timeless joinery for new settings, Owlsworth Joinery stands for quality, authenticity, and respect for tradition.

If you're seeking to repair or conserve original joinery, we offer an informed, sensitive approach tailored to the needs of heritage buildings. Whether the solution is a straightforward repair or a more involved conservation strategy, we guide you through every step of the process.

Often, there’s more to consider than meets the eye:

-
Listed building consent and heritage approvals
-
Applying sound conservation philosophy and repair principles
-
Selection of appropriate timber species
-
Applying traditional jointing techniques alongside modern conservation methods
-
Matching ironmongery and hardware
-
Investigating finishes sympathetic to the original context
-
Moisture content and timber movement
-
Budget considerations and long-term value
